NEW! publish gems into your own dedicated namespace

gem.coop name disputes policy

Last Updated Jun 4, 2026

This policy describes how gem.coop handles disputes about gem names, namespace names, publisher names, and other unique identifiers. It also describes what you should do if you think someone else’s use of one of these names infringes your trademark.

Squatting

It is against our terms of service at https://gem.coop/terms-of-service to publish a gem, create a namespace, or register a publisher account just to reserve it for future use. So is buying, selling, or otherwise trading in reserved names. We can remove or rename squatted gems, namespaces, and accounts at any time without notice.

If you believe a name has been squatted, e-mail us at support@gem.coop.

Infringing Names

If you believe someone else is using a gem name, namespace, or publisher name that infringes a live trademark registered to you or an organization you have the legal right to act for, send the following information to us at support@gem.coop:

Conduct

Our code of conduct at https://gem.coop/code-of-conduct applies to all disputes about names. We are under no obligation to review or resolve name disputes from those who would abuse our personnel or other gem.coop users.

Updates

We may change this policy over time. When we do, we’ll update this page with a new last-updated date at the top.
